Crap...I Forgot to "Skip" Julep Last Month...

Hello beautiful beauties!! A while back I made a blog/video about the Julep Maven subscription and how I tried it out for a penny (plus $4 shipping). Well every month since then I have skipped and opted out of each month's box. Reason #1: Even though I believe the subscription is a great value, it's still a little pricey for me every month. Reason #2: I'm usually not into the color selections of any month. I never see any colors that really pop out to my taste. BUT last month I totally forgot to "skip" the month and I was sent a box. Here it is!
This box was all about the bright colors. I have to admit, this scared me a bit since I don't normally go for bright polish colors.

Before I forgot, this box came with a yummy little pop-rock lollipop - which was good until I started tasting my lipgloss...

This is the Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum. It's a pen with a brush tip. You twist on the bottom to pump out more when you need it. This is pretty moisturizing and works instantly once you rub it in all the way. Handy little thing to keep in your purse for those random moments you realize your cuticles are looking a mess!
These are the colors of the month. BRIGHT
This is a very vibrant orange in the color "Kaylen." It reminds me of a creamsicle! I wasn't too excited about this color, but I figured I'd work with it anyways since I can't return it.
The color is actually much darker in person. Also, it has a slight matte finish to it. What I don't like about this polish is that it's very transparent. After two thick coats, I could still see the tips of my finger nails. That is a big no no for me!
This polish is in the shade "Lena." It's a really pretty aquamarine-like color. It also has hints of gold shimmer in the light.
This polish looks much different in person. It's actually more of a turquoise and a little more green. What I LOVE about this polish is how opaque it is. I'm wearing two coats in this photo, but even just one coat is completely opaque. Love that!!!

I was very annoyed after I attempted to remove the nail polish. I used TONS of nail polish remover and wash my hands and fingernails over and over and my nails were still quite stained. This happened after wearing the nail polish for only two days! I've never had this issue with any of the other Julep polishes that I own. This was a HUGE no no for me! I also want to note that it looks MUCH worse in person.

Overall, I'm not 100% happy with this box. I don't care for the orange, especially with the poor quality. I also didn't care for the matte finish that it had. I do like the "Lena" color, but it is very similar to a shade that I already have. However, I hate the fact that it stained my nails :( So if it was up to me, I could not have picked these colors. However, I still intend to play with them and I'm always happy to expand my nail polish collection :)

Thank you so much for the support!! 'Til next time nail junkies, MUAH!
