My Very First IPSY Bag!!!

Hello everyone!!! I couldn't be more excited today to talk about my new subscription to IPSY! Ipsy is a monthly subscription that sends you 4-5 deluxe beauty samples, based off of you style profile. I could hardly contain my excitement when I saw that metallic pink envelope in the mail!!
The theme of May is "Spring Fling." I simple adore this chevron cosmetics bag!!
This is a concealer by Yaby, and it's in the color "honey." If you have a magnetic palette case, this is perfect to just pop right in! I could not believe how easily this concealer brightened up my eyes. I always have dark circles, and this concealer made it disappear! You barely have to use any product, and it goes on smoothly. I love this!!!
I was over the moon to receive a product by Anastasia!!! This is a brand that is known for having amazing products, specifically for the eyebrows. This is the clear brow gel. I absolutely LOVE this product!!! Not only did they give us a great size (if not full a full size) but the formula to this gel is amazing! If you fill in your bows, this blends the color in so that it looks very natural. It also really holds all those brow hairs in place. PHENOMENAL!!!
This is a perfume by Pacifica, in the scent Tahitian Gardenia. I could not believe the sample size of this thing!!! Normally sample sizes are pretty meager, but this one was truly a "deluxe" sample!! It has a roller ball, so you really can't wait it easily. I love the scent!! It makes me think of a tropical paradise in the summer time! Mmmmmmm
This is a sheer lipstick by Mirabella (full size)
It's in the shade "Posy." This a really pretty reddish-berry color. I am horrible at picking out lipstick colors, but I actually really love how this looks on me. Since it's sheer, it's build-able. It also nourishes the lips because it's infused with mango butter.
The last product in my ipsy bag is by Zoya!!!! This is a full-sized product. This polish is in the color "Gie Gie." It's a pretty pale pink, and it has hints of shimmer in it. It's a very dainty color.

Overall, I am 100% happy with my first bag from IPSY!!! I absolutely received more in value than $10. I am so excited for next month's bag!!!!

May 2013 Birchbox

Hello beauties!! Here I am with another Birchbox. This month's box was all about our daily beauty routines. Let's take a look inside and see if any of these products are right for mine.
Let's start with Protect & Detangle by the brand Beauty Protector. It's a nourishing hair elixir that locks in color, adds in shine, and supposedly detangles hair instantly. The product has a nice scent and it milky in texture, yet lightweight.
Next up is the Naturak Skin Tone SPF 40 by the brand CoTZ. This is a tinted lotion with spf 40, and it has a non-greasy formula. What drew me to this was the matte finish. I was really excited to try this out. However, I was horrified after putting this on. It gave such a white cast to my face that was VERY OBVIOUS. It was like putting vanilla ice cream next to chocolate ice cream. I'm not sure how this would differ for someone with a lighter skin tone, but this product was simply too light for my complexion.
This awesome pen is from Pilot. I love it because it has purple ink!! The pen writes sooooo smoothly. Such a nice bonus!
This product has immediately became a fave of mine. This is the Eco-Beauty Oil-Free Face Cleanser by LA FRESH. You dont need any water to use this!! Simply open the packet, unfold the towel, and begin to wipe your face. It took off all of my makeup and left my skin feeling clean. It also didn't dry out my skin! I didn't even need to put on lotion after using this! It's perfect for at night when you need to take your makeup off before going to sleep. This helps prevent drying out the skin from washing too much. GET THIS PRODUCT!

The last product is the Cargo lipgloss. This is in the shade Route 66. It looks like a mixture between coral and red. It's a nice color, but I really don't like using lipgloss.

Overall, I am most excited about the LA Fresh wipes. I have tried them out already and I know I am definitely going to buy a full pack of them!! I am so happy that I was introduced to this product.

Crap...I Forgot to "Skip" Julep Last Month...

Hello beautiful beauties!! A while back I made a blog/video about the Julep Maven subscription and how I tried it out for a penny (plus $4 shipping). Well every month since then I have skipped and opted out of each month's box. Reason #1: Even though I believe the subscription is a great value, it's still a little pricey for me every month. Reason #2: I'm usually not into the color selections of any month. I never see any colors that really pop out to my taste. BUT last month I totally forgot to "skip" the month and I was sent a box. Here it is!
This box was all about the bright colors. I have to admit, this scared me a bit since I don't normally go for bright polish colors.

Before I forgot, this box came with a yummy little pop-rock lollipop - which was good until I started tasting my lipgloss...

This is the Mighty Nail & Cuticle Serum. It's a pen with a brush tip. You twist on the bottom to pump out more when you need it. This is pretty moisturizing and works instantly once you rub it in all the way. Handy little thing to keep in your purse for those random moments you realize your cuticles are looking a mess!
These are the colors of the month. BRIGHT
This is a very vibrant orange in the color "Kaylen." It reminds me of a creamsicle! I wasn't too excited about this color, but I figured I'd work with it anyways since I can't return it.
The color is actually much darker in person. Also, it has a slight matte finish to it. What I don't like about this polish is that it's very transparent. After two thick coats, I could still see the tips of my finger nails. That is a big no no for me!
This polish is in the shade "Lena." It's a really pretty aquamarine-like color. It also has hints of gold shimmer in the light.
This polish looks much different in person. It's actually more of a turquoise and a little more green. What I LOVE about this polish is how opaque it is. I'm wearing two coats in this photo, but even just one coat is completely opaque. Love that!!!

I was very annoyed after I attempted to remove the nail polish. I used TONS of nail polish remover and wash my hands and fingernails over and over and my nails were still quite stained. This happened after wearing the nail polish for only two days! I've never had this issue with any of the other Julep polishes that I own. This was a HUGE no no for me! I also want to note that it looks MUCH worse in person.

Overall, I'm not 100% happy with this box. I don't care for the orange, especially with the poor quality. I also didn't care for the matte finish that it had. I do like the "Lena" color, but it is very similar to a shade that I already have. However, I hate the fact that it stained my nails :( So if it was up to me, I could not have picked these colors. However, I still intend to play with them and I'm always happy to expand my nail polish collection :)
