Day After Christmas Sale 2012 HAUL

Hey everyone!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! I know I sure did! This time I wanted to share with you the items I picked up from the Day After Christmas sale at Walmart. Keep in mind, I did go to three Walmarts to find all these items because their left over products will vary from each location. Also, this sale at Walmart means that all the Christmas items (including gift sets) are 50% off! Let's get started!
I am really big on wrapping presents, so I definitely wanted to pick up more wrapping paper and ribbon. The paper on the far left was originally 97 cents, and I got it for 48 cents! The pack of 3 reversible wrapping paper was originally $7, and I bought it for $3.50. I also LOVE ribbon, so I nabbed a 5 pack of assorted styles for only $2.98 (which was originally $4.97).
Reese's has to be one of my FAVORITE candies. I forgot the exact price, but I know I bought them for less than $1.50. I should have bought MORE!! I also bought two deodorant packs. They both come with a regular deodorant and a clinical deodorant. The Degree package comes with Clear Hair shampoo, and the Dove package comes with Dove body wash. Both packs were a steal at $2.40 each.
I wanted to invest in some nice decor, so I bought this beautiful copper and bronze wreath for only $9.99!! It's already hanging on my door and it looks beautiful!! To hang it up, I bought this adorable copper wreath hanger that has leaves on it. It was originally $3.97, and I bought it for only $1!

These items were both for my boyfriend. The Gillette pack came with a razor, full sized shaving cream, and body wash. This pack was a steal at about $4.70! To the right is a Darth Vader gum ball machine. When you press it, it makes the classic Darth Vader sound before it pushes out a gum ball. This was originally $13.98, and I bought this for $6.99!
I am quite in love with hot chocolate, and these sets had my name written all over them. The set on the left is a Nestle hot chocolate and Disney mug gift set. It was originally $6.98, and I bought it for $3.49. The set on the right is a smores set with hot chocolate and two mugs. This was originally $9.98 and I bought it for $4.99.
I didn't mention this in my video, but I also purchased this Hershey's smores set on Walmart's website. I had seen this prior to the sale and really wanted it, but I didn't see it in any of the stores I went to. I bought this online for only $4.97 and paid only 97 cents for the shipping!!

I could not pass up this Kardashian Kolor gift set. It came with this beautiful copper/bronze glittery polish that has larger multi-colored glitter pieces inside. This one of Khloe's Kolors (Disco Dolls). It also came with this gray/metallic leopard print cosmetic case. I nabbed these babies for only $7.40.
My main reason for going to the after Christmas sale at Walmart is to stock up on my favorite perfumes. I had my eye on Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck perfume for quite some time. This was originally $18.77, and I got it for about $9.39! Talk about a steal!!
I also HAD to grab this Katy Perry Purr gift set!! It came with the perfume, shower gel, and lotion. It smells DIVINE!! This was originally $19.84, and I bought it for only $9.92!! CHA-CHING!!!

So those were all the items I bought from this year's sale! I definitely know I got my money's worth. I bought the items that I knew I wanted ahead of time, and even stumbled onto a few surprises! All in all, I say this year's sale was a total success for me. See you next year, Walmart!!

Mini Review: ModelCo FIBRE LASHXTEND Lengthening Mascara

Helloooooo again beauties!! Last month I told everyone I was so eager to test out this FIBRE LASHXTEND Lengthening Mascara by ModelCo.

I received it in my November Birchbox and it's retailed at $24.
This mascara has little fibres within the formula that grasp onto your eyelashes, creating a lengthened look. Let's see what I think of this product!
The left eyelashes are coated with the LashXTEND mascara, while the right eyelash has no mascara and was just curled with an eyelash curler. You can see that is is lengthened for sure, but is it a OMG status? Let's compare it to a $3 drugstore mascara.
The right eyelashes are coated with a mineralizing mascara from e.l.f. which costs 3 bucks. If I didn't know which was which, I'd think the eyelashes are the right had the expensive mascara on them.

THE LOW DOWN: The ModelCo Fibre LASHXTEND mascara is a nice idea, but it just doesn't live up to the hype. #1 problem with this mascara: FIBRE FALLOUT! Within half an hour of applying this mascara I always notice fibre fallout on my face, which looks like little hairs on your face. Not very attractive. Problem #2: It's not buildable! The mascara starts drying while you are still applying it. If you try to keep adding more, the fibres will start getting tangled and it starts looking like a hot hairy mess. For these reasons alone, I have to give this mascara a THUMBS DOWN. The e.l.f. mascara trumps over the ModelCo mascara in every way. This mascara, in my opinion, is just not worth $24. In fact, if this was $3 I still wouldn't repurchase this.

I hope this review was helpful! Let me know if you have tried any over fibre lengthening mascara, and what was your experience with it?

Fall & Winter Nail Polish Faves!

Hello beauties!! Nail polish has to be one of my favorite beauty products. I think nail styles can say a lot about a girl :) I definitely love changing my manicure to the current mood I'm in. I'm very happy to have an expanding nail polish collection! These are my favorites to wear during the Fall and Winter seasons!
You might have figured by now that I LOVE PURPLE! The first polish is by Julep, and it's in the color Toni. It's a beautiful purple/mauve color. I think it's a very subtle and sophisticated way to wear a purple mani. The middle one is by Zoya, in the color Carey. This mixture of purple and gray is Fabulous! The quality is amazing! It might be the best quality nail polish I own. Last polish is by the lovely Essie, in the color Carry On. This plum purple is so beautiful!! I absolutely love it :)
We have another Julep winner! This beautiful midnight blue is in the color Michelle. It actually appears much darker on the nail, but is still so fabulous. I'm not a huge fan of blue polishes, but this one spoke to me. The quality is amazing, by the way. To the right is the weird name Status Uptade by Color Club. I love this smokey charcoal color. This is a totally rock able gray polish!! Love it

These polishes are both from Forever 21. The polish on the left is in the color Teal. It has a beautiful shimmery finish that reminds me of the ocean, or a mermaid! It's beautiful. On the right we have the color Olive. I love this sexy olive color so much! It has a hint of gold iridescence. It's insanely gorgeous!!

Where would I be without my glitter polishes?? The Essie polish on the left is in the color Set in Stones. It's an ultra fabulous silver confetti polish. This polish makes any manicure instantly over the top and glamourous :) The Love My Nails polish is in the color Milky Way. I bought this a whiiiiile back from Walmart. This is a gold glitter top coat, which I use all the time! The last polish is also from Walmart, and it's it's by the brand Pure Ice in the color Pure Ice Busted. This is another shimmer/glitter top coat. It's also iridescent. As you can see, I've used a lot of this one!

Those are all my favorite nail polishes to wear this time of the year. I hope you enjoyed this fun blog post :) If you haven't seen my latest video about all test fabulous nail polishes, then please feel free to watch it here:

My First Julep Maven Box

Helloooo beauties!!! You know how I love my boxes ;) This one is called Julep, and I'm taking it for a test drive! Julep is a monthly subscription that let's you try out the latest nail trends. You take a style quiz, pick out a box you like and BAM. They cost about $19.99 a month. The reason I tested this out was because I has a code to get an introductory box for a penny! I did have to pay $3.99 shipping, totaling the whole transaction to four bucks. Like other services, you can skip a month or cancel altogether. Enough with all the info, let's dig in to the box!
My style quiz suggested certain colors for me, but I didn't like them. So I decided to get the BOHO GLAM box. This came with two polishes, cuticle oil, and two surprise glitter pots.
Sprinkle these babies to your wet nails and you're good to go. I appreciate the red glitter, but I wish they would have sent me two different colors.
This cuticle oil is awesome because it has a roller ball, and it lets just the perfect amount out. It has a citrus scent and it works pretty well.
I really love both of these colors. They're so perfect for this time of the year! They both went on really smooth, and didn't leave a streaky mess. They also dried fairly quickly.
This Toni color is a nice mixture of purple and mauve. It is so simple and almost understated. I absolutely LOVE this.
I would consider this Michelle color to be a midnight blue. It's so dark that in some lights it actually looks black. I don't normally go for blues, but this blue is so deep and gorgeous!
I also thought the sides of these polish bottles were adorable!

So the real question for me to find out: Is this worth the price? It's expensive, but then you are getting a few items. The real test for me is the quality of the polish. I'm interested in seeing if this is some miraculously nail polish or what. I will know my answer very soon! I'll update my blog on my final thoughts on the quality of this polish.

Please feel free to watch my video on the unboxing of Julep right here:

November Birchbox

Hey everyone! It's Birchbox time! This month was centered around the month of giving thanks, giving back, and giving treats! I am going to keep this post short and sweet, so let's get right into it!
This is the Lavender + Clary Sage Hair Powder by Lulu Organics. It's a dry organic shampoo that you would use on unwashed hair. I love dry shampoos, and I've never used a powder dry shampoo so I'm eager to try this.
This is a men's cologne by John Varvatos and it's called Artisan. It has a blend of citrus and warm woods. This is actually a gift for a special man in your life! I know who I'm giving this too! It smells AMAZING by the way.
This is actually my favorite item in the box! This is the FIBRE LASHXTEND by ModelCo. It's a lengthening mascara that uses tiny lash-extending fibers to give the illusions of wearing false lashes. This is worth $24 alone! I've never used a mascara with fibers, so I'm really excited to try this. Best of all, it has a mirror on this mascara! Fabulous
Instead of wrapping some of our items in tissue paper and ribbon, they decided to put our items in a reusable gift box. The idea is to take the items out and put items in and give to someone else.
It's a great way to recycle and have fun at the same time :)
These were the items in the little gift box. The item on top is by One Love Organics, and it's Aromatic Body Serum. It's made with pumpkin seed and sea buckthorn oil. It keeps the skin hydrated, and it has aromatherapy benefits. What's cool is it actually has a spray pump for easier application. The downside is that the scent is just waaaay too strong for me, It doesn't agree with my nose at all.
The item on the bottom is the Pomegranate & Fig Lip Butter by Mox Botanicals. The lip balm is infused with avocado oil and shea butter to keep the lips moisturized. The container itself is 100% recyclable! I use this all the time and it's very moisturizing. It helps my chapped lips through the cold weather and the moisture lasts. Also, a little bit goes a long way!

So those are all the items in my box! It was a fun and cute box, and I will be doing a full review on the ModelCo FIBRE LASHXTEND Lengthening Mascara! Stay tuned for that one.

If you haven't watched my latest video on this month's box, please feel free to watch it here!

Mini Review: Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

Ello ello ello! I've been on a blogging roll, yeah? This is my last product I'll be featuring from the Beauty Blogger VoxBox. This time it's all about the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin. You know the deal, I received this from Influenster complimentary for the purpose of reviewing :) I was really excited to try this one out, because I have seen this product on commercials before. So let's jump right into it!
This pack of two spin pins retails for about $7.29. It comes in different shades, and this is for dark hair. Personally, I think I would've gone for a black pair. So the whole point of these spiral/twisted pins is to ditch the 100 bobby pins you need to use for a fancy or quick up-do. Now I am the queen of sling bobby pins. It's some kind of phenomenon. No matter  how hard I try to keep all of them in the same place, they all eventually end up disappearing ^_^ These spin pins are kind of hard to lose, to say the least.

So how do you use them? It's simple. Once your hairstyle is in place, you simple screw in a spin pin on one side and then the other. And you're done! It's really that simple. I tried a few different hairstyles with these, and it really did work. I was very surprised. It not only shortens the time you do your hair, but it's less work.

This is a side pick of a quick braided do I did. It's actually kind of perfect for special occasions, and not special occasions!
Just for the record, taking pictures behind your head ain't so easy! This is the back of the hairstyle I did. Yes, I really only used the two spin pins. Pretty awesome!! Oh and they are simple to remove. Just screw them out!

THE VERDICT: These little spin pins are amazing. They make it so easy for me to play around with different hairstyles, and it really makes the whole process much more simple! They may seem a little pricey for almost 8 bucks, but I think they are definitely worth the try and investment :)

I hope this review helped!! I'll try to take better pictures next time :D Let me know if you are interested in seeing me create this hairstyle!

Mini Review: NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact

Hello again beauties!! My Beauty Blogger VoxBox has been getting a lot of love since I have been writing reviews on all the products from that box. This is my review for the NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact. This was sent to me from Influenster, completely complimentary for the purpose of reviewing. Time to get into it!
This compact was made for brown eyes. It comes with two matte colors, two slightly shimmery colors, a primer base, and an illuminator.

The back of the compact even has suggestions on how to apply the eyeshadows. This custom compact retails for about $4.99.

This is the completed look. It did take a bit to achieve this look, because the purple eyeshadow was a difficult consistency to apply and blend. I made it work by masking the creased imperfections with the brown shimmer color. I applied it heavily in my crease after applying the purple, and it came out quite nicely. The little brush wasn't very useful, but I'm never a fan of those types of applicators anyways. The primer base had a really smooth and creamy texture, and it was easy to blend. However, the lasting power is not great. It creased a couple hours into my day, which I was disappointed about. I did find that packing extra on the lid and crease did help it last longer.
Other than that, I really enjoy the colors of the palette. I think the colors really do compliment my eye color, especially for Fall and Winter.
This is a look I will definitely be recreating over and over, because I really love the blend of purple and shimmer brown. It's almost like a purple smokey eye, but it isn't too dark at all.
Overall, I really enjoyed this palette. The purple color is not my favorite texture in powder, but it's very easy to hide the purple imperfections with the brown shimmer. I think for the price, this is definitely a fun palette to have, especially since it is catered toward the different eye colors. I hope this review was helpful!

If you haven't seen my latest video on how I achieved this look, please feel free to watch it here!

Mini Review: Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit

Hey beauties!!! It's review time! This blog will be about the Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit. This kit was sent to me completely complimentary from Influenster, for the purpose of testing and reviewing. Some of you may notice that this was another product from my Beauty Blogger VoxBox - which I LOVED! This will solely be a review based on my own experience and opinion :) Let's get started!
These lashes are in the style 05. The starter kit comes with a pair of lashes (100% human hair), a tweezer for application, and easy to use glue (latex free). This kit retails for about $4.99.
What I love about this kit is that it's intended to be used by beginners. Prior to this kit, I have never owned any lashes - nor have I applied them. The back of the box shows you three easy steps. First, cut the lashes if they are too long for your eye shape. I have big a** eyes, so that wasn't a problem for me! Next, take the easy to use glue and apply it to the line of the lashes - adding extra to the ends. Make sure you let it dry up for 30-60 seconds. Then you take the applicator and carefully place and adjust the lash as needed and let dry.

This video was actually my very first time applying these lashes! You can see how easy it was to use. I did the first one perfectly, and then I messed up the other haha

Since then, I have used the lashes quite a bit. It really does look like the picture on the box.
I noticed that after the first time, I didn't love the applicator as much. I ended up just using my fingers the next times I used it, and I found it much easier. The glue does last all day. It's definitely latex free because I am allergic to latex and had no problems with the glue. The lashes are also easy to remove after you've used eye makeup remover to remove your eyeshadow and eyeliner.
These lashes are very pretty and very, very dramatic. They're actually much more dramatic in person than they are in photos. They're fun to use for girls night out when I want to really go glam and over the top, but the style is a little dramatic for me for everyday use. Since I have big eyes, I feel like they really emphasize the large size of my eyes when I wear them.
Like I said, in the pictures it doesn't look so dramatic. In fact you're probably wondering what I'm fussing about ^_^ I think the fact that I already have naturally long eyelashes (especially with mascara) that the lashes aren't necessary for me. In person, the style of these lashes makes me look like I'm trying a little too hard.

Overall, I really enjoyed using these lashes. I definitely can re-use these lashes a bunch more times for those special nights. Removing the glue from them is very simple. I'm really pleased that the product matches the description of the box. It lasts all day, and it's so easy to use for beginners! I also think the price isn't bad, especially since you an get so many uses from them.

That's it for my review! Pretty straight forward. I hope this has helped, and please feel free to ask me any of your questions.

'Til next time loves, MUAH!

Obsession: Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candles

Hello lovies!! Being a girly girl as I am, I LOOOOVE candles. It's amazing how a little bit of fire and scent can instantly change the mood. I love candles because they're gorgeous and almost magical to look at. They also can smell AMAZING! Today I wanted to showcase the Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candle. I was first introduced to this lovely Pumpkin Cupcake mini candle, thanks to Influenster. They sent this to me completely complimentary, for the purpose of reviewing.
Normally I'm not a huge pumpkin fan, but this smelled DELICIOUS!!! It was the perfect blend blend of pumpkin and sweetness. It literally smelled like Fall to me. I was really impressed how long this candle lasted! I burned it hours at a time, totaling to about 9 hours all together. For the retail price of $3.50, that ain't bad! I was also really shocked at how this little candle really made the whole room smell. Needless to say, I was pretty sad when I used the whole candle!

BUUUUUT I loved this mini candle so much that I went ahead and picked up more!! Bath & Body Works had a mini candle promotion going on a few weeks back, and I took full advantage! I added these lovely additions to my home :)
Some of these are Fall candle, and some of them are Winter candles. Here pictured I have Marshmallow Fireside, Creamy Pumpkin, Hot Buttered Rum, White Barn, WInter, Frosted Peppermint, Snowed In, and Cashmere. Not too much, right?! Haha! I absolutely am in love with these candles.

R.I.P. to Creamy Pumpkin!! He was a perfect blend of pumpkin and spice, and he will be dearly missed!!!! :(

I'm currently using Hot Buttered Rum, which smells AMAZING of course!! It has cinnamon in it and it just smells so sweet and delicious and still goes with the Fall season :)

As the season changes, I really look forward to using the Winter mini candles! These candles are mini, but they make a big impact on scent and mood change for me :) I highly recommend these to everyone! Look out for their constant sales! Plus, Black Friday is coming and Bath & Body Works always has special sales for that crazy shopping day!

I want to give you guys a heads up that I am saving all these used candles, as I will be re-using them in a DIY recycle/reuse blog in the future!

Go ahead and check out the Fall candles before they're all gone!

I hope this was helpful or at least a fun blog to read! Thank you so much for the support!! 'Til next time, MUAH!
