Farewell 2011

Ello lovies!  It's New Year's Eve FINALLY!!! A lot of people have said that this year flew by, but I can't say the same. This year has been pretty long to me for some reason.  It's been a bittersweet year, full of ups and downs.  I am proud to say that the things that stand out the most to me have all been positive. I'm actually really proud of myself this year. I've managed to come a little bit out of my turtle shell and step into the world. So many things I did this year I would never have believed I would've done.  I've been taking charge of my dreams being really proactive.  I've been so blessed to meet so many new people that have been helping making my secret wishes and dreams come true.  My friendships have become even stronger.  I gained a new granddaughter. Even though my height hasn't gone anywhere, I feel like I've grown so much mentally ^_^ It's taken me a really long time to get to this place that I'm at in my life.  I finally feel like I'm much more comfortable with myself, and that I'm the only one that can stand in the way of my goals.  I have so much to be thankful for, and next year is already looking to be an amazing year :) Next week I begin shooting my first "film" and I am so ready to take on this role.  I love new years because they give people so much inspiration for new beginnings, new hopes, new goals, and endless possibilities.  So happy New Year everyone!! Let's make everyday count<3

Everyone in my life, I LOVE and appreciate all of you so much.  You guys show me everyday how beautiful this life is, and to never take it for granted!! xoxoxoxoxo

After Christmas Shopping

Heyaaaa! My mom and I have a tradition for the day after Christmas.  We get up and go to Walmart as soon as it opens and buy gift sets and Christmas items that are half off.  We just have so much fun doing it! It's almost like a treasure hunt haha because you don't know what you're going to find.  Sometimes I find really amazing buys that I just have to get.  Check out my new video and see what I got :)

My First Parody

'Ello loves!!  So I've been telling you guys a little more about my YouTube channel MissPurpleP.  I had been doing beauty and shopping related videos mostly.  As much as I love those, I have a funny bug inside me and I needed to do something a little different.  I decided to make my first funny (or at least I hope it's funny) video to just go a different direction for a sec.  I was really fascinated by these "What's In My Purse" videos and I just could not understand why people were so interested to hear about what's inside someone else's purse....I'll be honest.  I did consider doing one, just to get my views up, but then I realized an ironic fact.  People want to know what's in someone else's purse...yet I'm sure everyone cleaned and rearranged what was inside before they shared it with the world on a video.  Talk about irony lol.  So then I got to thinking, what if I made a video about the strange things that might Actually be in someones purse?  Totally exaggerated of course!  So here it is, my parody.  Please check it out and check out my channel :)

Got Naked

Hey friends!  And hello YouTubers!  Today's post is about my latest video from my MissPurpleP channel.  My bestest friend Jamie got me the Urban Decay Naked Palette that lots of people have been raving about.  I definitely had my eye on this and was so ecstatic and thankful that this was given to me as a gift! Even though I made a brief video about this, my camera doesn't focus.  So I figured I'd post pictures here on my blog :)

This was shipped from Ulta, so it also came with some great samples.

First sample was the Beckham Signature perfume.  It's purple too so yay!!  It smells pretty good :)

Next sample was the perfume from Dior, J'adore.  Oh...my...goodness...smells amazing!!!

The last sample I got was a hair mask from Fekkai, which I'm super excited to try!  I love hair masks or anything that helps repairing damaged hair.

So now you've seen my photos, hopefully you'll go watch my video on my channel!  Thanks so much for the support MUAH!

Shorts and Babies!

Hello Hello!  This time it hasn't been toooo long since I last posted, so yay for progress!  This one is going to be much shorter.  I figured I'd give an update on the things I've been doing lately.  So the past week has been amazing.  I got to continue working in the desert on the "Terran War" with Virren Orr.  This time Ivan Minier was along to also direct and film, which was great since he was the first person I made a short with!  Last post I showed you photos from the shoot that day.  Well, my character was too cute so she got re-vamped!  She looks nothing like the photos from my last post.  I even got to wear a wig!  That was really fun and I just really enjoyed the costume change because it took me out of my comfort zone.  Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with Mel Heuberg and her brother Matt on another short.  Mel was so nice!  I wasn't too pleased with my work yesterday because I ended up looking like an ice princess - even tho I was supposed to look really excited!  LOL.  It was a lesson learned and I'll just have to work on more ways to exaggerate my excitement for close ups next time.  I also (crossing my fingers) might have another short film opportunity coming up.  I read the script for it and I really love it.  So hopefully that works out!  Switching gears, I've been SOOOO happy because my friend just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl!!  She is honestly just so precious.  I'm so proud of my friend.  Through her pregnancy and the birth and even now, she is just doing an awesome job!  I don't know how she does it!  So yeah that's my summarized update of what I've been up to recently.  I'm really looking forward to the rest of this year and the possibilities :)  As always, thanks for reading!

Birthdays, Secret YouTube vids, and Short Films

Hey y'all!  Oh man, I haven't blogged in a whiiiiile!!!  I gotta get better at this blogging thing lol.  Anyways, since it's been forever since I have posted a blog, I guess I should just summarize what's been going on with me since the last time I updated everyone.  As far as the series goes, filming for that has been great.  I've had tons of fun on and off set and I'm just excited to still be working on it.  All the of the cast and crew is working pretty hard trying to make great work for everyone to see.  I just hope that we get to film all eight episodes because I really want to play out the whole transition of my character "Kayli."  Switching gears for a sec, I did just celebrate my birthday about a week ago :) I had about a few days of celebrating it (not including the gifts I got in advance from my east coast trip).  Oh yeah, a few weeks ago I spent about a week and a half in the eact coast.  I went to Batimore, Philadelphia, a city (which name I forgot) in Virginia, Washington D.C., and NEW YORK BABY!  Of course, NYC was my favorite!  Just can't get enough of that city.  Oh yeah, while I was in Batlimore, I experienced my first earthquake that rock the east coast.  That was scary!  Overall I had tons of fun and I went to places I've never seen before.  Being out there, a lot of the times I was kind of in the country part of Baltimore.  It was realy calm and quiet, which gave me a lot of time to think.  When I came back to Vegas of course, I jumped right into the madness.  But back to my birthday, it was so much fun!!!  This year I've really been so appreciative of my friends and I really can't thank them enough for what they did for me.  I honestly have the best and most supportive people in my life, and I don't take any of them for granted for one second.  Jumping back a little bit, I had been thinking a lot on what would be the next project I would jump into, as far as acting goes.  Working on the series has given me a chance to really observe other actors.  I've noticed that everyone seems to be doing 10 things at once.  That's something I greatly admire.  Their hustle and drive, not to mention passion, just keeps them going and constantly working.  I knew that at some point I needed to make the leap and step out of my comfort zone and step into a new project with new people.  Luckily, I was contacted by someone I had previously met who was interested in me being an actress in their short.  I quickly accepted!  Just this past weekend I worked with an amazing cast and crew on a sci fi short called the "Terran War."  It's directed by Virren Orr.  I love my character so much.  I can't wait to go back on that set and finish my dialogue scenes! Oo I also wanna add that I received a Flip camera for my birthday, which is awesome!  I've been using it so much that I killed off the first set of batteries ^_^ I've also been using it to make videos for my secret YouTube page that about 3 people (you know who you are) happen to know about haha.  Maybe one day when I get the courage, I'll let people I know see the random videos I post up.  Until theeeen, check out these pics from filming the "Terran War" over the weekend :)

P.S. I will try to start posting at least once a week updates so that I'm not rambling all at once hehe ^_^
Thank you guys so much for reading about my random life!  I appreciate it so much!

Day 1 of filming The Fall Series

Hellooooo dudes and dudettes!  It's late at night (for me) and I am somehow up writing this blog.  I should be asleep by now, but I had such a great day that I wanted to share before the sand man pays me a visit lol.  Soooooo today was the first day of filming The Fall: Retribution!!!! Yaaaaaay!!!!!!!  All weekend and all day today I had been thinking about hardly anything else than the first day of filming.  Today, my day went by so fast, and I was surprisingly calm...only had ten seconds of panic haha.  Filming went better than I expected.  Well, I hardly knew what to expect.  You might be wondering, why on earth was I even nervous when I have two promo shorts out.  Well, that's because those promo shorts were just of me mostly, and I hardly had to have any interaction with anyone else.  Today was the first time I actually had dialogue with another actor (Julien who plays Valentine).  All day I knew I had my lines down and I figured since I knew it, I might as well not look at my script because I didn't want to over think and freak out.  So here comes take one, and after my first line....BAM I went blank haha!!!  I think I got nervous and spaced out.  One quick glance at my paper and I was like duuuhhhhh why did I forget that lol.  Well, luckily I got my act together (no pun intended) and that was the only time I blanked out.  But somehow I felt giggly inside and I tried so hard not to laugh, which worked out pretty well.  Obviously I can't give anything away, but today was such a success.  It also made me realize what an amaziiiiiing crew we have!!!  Dante Fortson and Stanford Greenlee are such great directors and I'm really happy that they're so down to earth and they have a sense of humor.  Julien Le Tohic, who plays Valentine, was really fun to work with as well and hopefully viewers will think we have good chemistry on camera.  Sonia Gamboa is an amazing makeup artist!!!  She made my skin look flawless :) and got rid of these dark circles of mine haha.  We were all just having a good time working together and cracking lots of jokes in between takes.  All in all, it was definitely a great shoot.  It just made me even morrrre passionate about this project.  I'm looking forward to my next filming day!  And I'm looking forward to sharing more with you guys.

By the way, if you haven't seen "Familiar Spirit" promo short, please check it out !!!  It's pretty creepy ;)

Lots of people have been subscribing to www.thefallseries.com, but if you haven't please do so that you can keep updated on everything!

Kayli's Secret: Promo Short #2

Hey guys!!!  It's been a little bit since I've last posted.  A lot of cool things have been happening the past couple of weeks.  The first promo short got a lot of great feedback, which I was really happy about.  If you haven't seen it, you can watch it here: The Fall: Retribution - Kayli's Day
Another character in the series, Alecto, has her own promo short that came out last week.  That is starring Cherise Quimbry.  It gives an insight to her character, which is what all of these shorts are going to be about.  If you haven't seen it yet, you can view it here: The Fall: Retribution - Alecto's Game
I've been keeping super quiet about everything because I never know what to say and what not to say, so I figure I can't go wrong with keeping my big mouth shut :P !  However, I will say that what I have read for the first script for the series is seriously amazing.  It's just a great story that I'd watch unfold even if I wasn't apart of this project.  With that said, I've also recently shot the second short for Kayli.  Which is now available to watch!  This short was shot by Dante Fortson, who is the director and writer for The Fall Series.  This short gives you a little more insight into Kayli...well that might be an understatement lol.  But if you thought Kayli was a little mysterious in the first short, wait until you see this one.  She's definitely got a secret...or two.  So here it is, Kayli's second teaser!  Enjoy :)

Oh and as always, for the latest updates don't forget to check out http://www.thefallseries.com/

"Kayli's Day" Short Film Debut!!!

Hey guys!  Eeek I'm so excited I can't type fast enough.  So earlier tonight I went to Rusty Meyer's wrap party, where our directors of the Fall Series Dante Fortson and Stanford Greenlee premiered our Kayli's short film - just hours ago.  Now it's FINALLY on the web and I can share with you guys!!!! You guys have no idea how anxious I've been these past few weeks!!!  Okay before I get too delirious and start rambling, Ivan Minier wrote, directed, AND edited the short (or I like to say teaser :P) film.  By the way, he rocks!!!  This short is also featuring Brooke Siffrinn, who plays "Megara."  She was really sweet, and I wish we could've continued working together.  Karl Hinkamp was also on set assisting.  He is great as well, and I had the pleasure of catching up with him today.  The short film was premiered in a room full of other actors and actresses, as well as special effects artists, directors, writers, etc.  So you can imagine how anxious I felt.  Actually, I think sitting while waiting for everyone to watch was just so nerve wracking!!!  My heart was pounding haha (I can laugh now).  I even thought to myself, "Wow, sitting here and having people watch and review this short is actually more difficult than the actual process of filming!"  I still stand by that haha.  Now I can understand why people skip premieres :P But don't worry, I won't haha.  Anyways, here I am rambling.  Why I'm SOOOO excited about this short is because it is the Perfect intro to my character.  I'm absolutely loving playing her, and I can't wait to dive in deeper into her psyche.  So  without further adieu, watch the video below!  MAke sure you share (if you LOVE me - and you better :) and share and share.  If you're not already following my blog, follow!!!  And make sure you check out www.thefallseries.com and www.thefallseries.com/retribution

The Fall Series

Okay so whoaaaa!  Two blogs in one day :) I almost waited until tomorrow to post this, but I'm just too excited that I can share some new info!  Okay so in my first blog I said I was working on a top secret project.  The project is called The Fall Series.  My character's name is Kayli.  Earlier I talked about a short film I had done, well it was a short film as Kayli.  At this point, I still can't give out too many details, so I still have to be hush hush about things for a bit.  And like I said earlier, my short film will be premiering in less than two weeks!  So I'm extremely excited about that.  I know that other short films are coming soon for the other characters, and I'm so anxious to see how those turned out as well.  For now, I'll leave you guys to watch my intro interview I did for the project.  Keep in mind, I had very little sleep that day =P So like I always say, stay tuned for the next updates.  Can't wait to share more with everyone!  Oh and if you're not already following my blog, please follow me!  Also, go to  http://thefallseries.com/

And http://thefallseries.com/retribution/ for more info!

ALSOOOOOO make sure if you love me (and I hope you do!) that you go and enter your email on the website so that you can get instant updates on everything about this project.  Don't worry, they won't spam you!  It only sends you emails when they update info :) Make sure you verify your email or else you won't get anything ^_^

Oh and here's my brief intro:

First Short Film? Weird Eye Phobias?

PART 1: So Wednesday was an eventful day for me.  I finally got over my contact lens fear and my optometrist is training my eyes to wear them longer everyday.  I thought it would be really weird, but the only weird part of it is that I can see everything so clearly haha it doesn't really feel like I'm wearing contacts most of the time. Putting them in is the easy part for me, but taking them out still seems to be a challenge.  Since I'm nearsighted, I still can't see clearly when things are up close while I'm wearing my contacts 0_0 so we'll see if that lasts forever or not.  So far, I actually enjoy wearing my contacts.  Go figure lol.  The ONLY reason I decided to try them out what because on set I obviously can't wear my glasses.  And when someone is directing me more than 6 feet away...I kinda can't see them haha.  And there's no way I'll be getting Lasik eye surgery anytime soon because that is still freaky to me. But enough about my weird eye phobias lol, let's get on to business.

PART 2: Before I went to get my contacts, I got up early in the morning to go do my first shoot.  Before arriving, I had a brief summary of what I'd be doing.  Then the director showed me the script and we went right into it.  There was another actress there.  She was super nice and easy to work with.  The assistant was really nice too. The purpose of the short film was to give you a preview of my character for the series.  It's basically a teaser.  It's about two minutes long.  I wish I could show it to everyone right now, but they're holding it off for a party on May 26.  The next day it will be on the series' official website.  I really hop everyone enjoys it.  Since I am under a contract, I still can't share my character or any details yet. That's why I haven't put any links to the main site.  In less than two weeks I'll be able to tell everyone my character and show you the short film and give you info on the theme and everything on this series.  So stay tuned because I have lots more in the works!

Let Me Introduce Myself...

For those of you who may not know me, I am Brittanie Vasquez.  Many people call me Britt...as well as other silly names teehee ^_^.  Those of you who do know me, might not now about what I have been up to lately.  The past year I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and I realized that I wasn't going towards anything I wanted.  For years, I was caught up in making a practical life for myself.  I started realizing that having a practical life had nothing to do with happiness...at least not for me.  So finally I realized that I had been pushing all of my hopes and dreams to the back of my head, just because I figured it wasn't possible.  It was only impossible because at the time I didn't have enough courage to admit what I secretly wanted to do in life....perform.  And by performing, I mean performing as an actress.  Growing up with parents that are entertainers, I always swore my life would be have to be the exact opposite.  Well the jokes on me because ever since realizing my dream, I can't see myself going towards anything else.  I guess entertaining is just in my blood.  I think that we've all been given different gifts, and I hope to entertain people with mine.  So there you have it guys, the cat is out the bag!  I also have been secretly working on a project, which I will soon start posting more about.  So stay tuned, and follow me on my journey :)
